Because only six candidates have officially tossed their hats into the bid for three Scottsdale City Council seats, there will be no Aug. 28 primary. 

The six city council candidates are incumbents Kathy Littlefield, Linda Milhaven and David Smith and challengers Bill Crawford, Alyssa Robis and Solange Whitehead. 

In the general election on Nov. 6, Scottsdale voters will elect three city council members for the open seats on the council. In addition, residents can vote on whether to approve a temporary tax to fund transportation improvements. The measure would increase the city's transaction privilege and use rates by 1/10th of 1 percent (or one penny on every $10) for 10 years.
