Pima Community College has received the Government Finance Officers Association of the U.S. and Canada's (GFOA) certificate of achievement, marking the 26th year the school has received the award.

The GFOA's certificate of achievement recognizes excellence in governmental accounting and financial reporting and is based on demonstrating full disclosure and clear communication of an organization's financial story. Pima Community College was recognized by the GFOA for its fiscal year Comprehensive Annual Financial Report.

“Continued recognition by the GFOA reinforces the dedication of our employees, who consistently maintain clear and concise financial communications on behalf of the College,” Pima Community College Executive Vice Chancellor for Finance and Administration David Bea said in a statement.

Headquartered in Chicago, the GFOA is a professional organization that helps meet the needs of appointed and elected local, state and provincial-level government officials and finance practitioners.  The organization provides publications, training programs, services and products for those handling government finance policy and management.

Founded in 1966, Pima Community College has six locations throughout the county and offers associates degrees in several fields as well as provides workforce development, continuing education, adult education and career training programs.
