Residents attending the July 4th Republic Services Arizona Celebration of Freedom this year will have a chance to help thousands of families in the Mesa community who are in need of food through the "Fill the Mesa Parade Fire Truck."

The City of Mesa and the United Food Bank have teamed up for the Fill the Mesa Parade Fire Truck with food that will be held in conjunction with the Republic Services Arizona Celebration of Freedom on July 4th. Donations of non-perishable food, bottles of water, and monetary donations will be accepted at the July 4th festivities at the Mesa Convention Center and the Mesa Amphitheatre on North Center Street.

Those bringing food or making a donation will be able to enter into a raffle drawing for prizes which include a 55-inch flat screen TV from Spencer's TV and Appliance; an acoustic guitar and case from Milano Music; and tickets from Phoenix Rising and the Arizona Diamondbacks.

The Republic Services Arizona Celebration of Freedom will be held from 6-10 p.m. and will feature live music, a naturalization ceremony, a fireworks show and the Freedom Express trackless train as well as patriotic displays.
