Elizabeth “Liz” Burke has accepted the position of Fountain Hills Town Clerk after serving in the same capacity for the City of Flagstaff.

Burke began her journey in civic work in the City of Show Low, followed by a stint in Flagstaff and subsequent private-sector positions. Only the second Arizona clerk to earn her Master Municipal Clerk certification, she graduated from Northern Arizona University with a business degree. She has also clerked for Prescott.

“Fountain Hills is a wonderful community,” Burke said. “I am looking forward to both living in and working for the Town of Fountain Hills.”

The new clerk for Fountain Hills brings many additional credentials to her role, including serving in several capacities as an officer and committee chair for the Arizona Municipal Clerks’ Association (AMCA); a designation as a Certified Municipal Election Official; and designation as a Certified Election Officer with the State of Arizona.

“We are very pleased to have a seasoned professional such as Liz Burke join the Fountain Hills team,” Town Manager Grady Miller said. “Liz brings with her nearly 30 years of municipal clerk experience from highly respected cities in Arizona."
