Town of Gilbert recently issued the following announcement.

The Town of Gilbert has reviewed the fiscal health of the water, wastewater (including reclaimed water) and environmental services utilities and has determined that rate adjustments will be needed to keep the funds balanced with expenses over the new few years. Unlike many of our neighboring communities, Gilbert’s water and wastewater rates have been unchanged since 2009, and environmental services rates decreased in 2012.

An online utility bill calculator, which can be found at www.gilbertaz.gov/utilityrates, has been created to help residential and commercial customers better understand the impact that these proposed rate adjustments will have on their utility bills.

In addition, open house customer workshops have been scheduled to offer the community an opportunity to provide feedback and to get a more detailed analysis on how the proposed rate changes may impact their utility bills.

Residential Customer Open House Workshops:

  • Tuesday, August 7, 2018 from 6:00-7:30 p.m. at Power Ranch Barn (3685 E. Autumn Dr., Gilbert, AZ 85297)
  • Monday, August 20, 2018 from 6:00-7:30 p.m. at the University Building (92 W. Vaughn Ave., Gilbert, AZ 85233)
Commercial Customer Open House Workshops:

  • Tuesday, August 7, 2018 from 4:00-5:30 p.m. at Power Ranch Barn (3685 E. Autumn Dr., Gilbert, AZ 85297)
  • Monday, August 20, 2018 from 4:00-5:30 p.m. at the University Building (92 W. Vaughn Ave., Gilbert, AZ 85233)
A public hearing and possible Town Council adoption of these rate adjustments will take place on Thursday, September 20, 2018, at 6:30 p.m. at Gilbert Town Hall (50 E. Civic Center Dr., Gilbert, AZ 85296). If adopted by the Town Council, the new rates would become effective on November 1, 2018.
