Cochise County Library District issued the following announcement on Aug. 1.

Sunsites Community Library will close for three weeks in August to allow for renovation work.

The project will include plastering to repair some cracks, fresh paint inside the building, and improved flooring. The library is located at 210 N. Ford Street, Pearce.

The cost of the renovation will be covered by the Friends of the Pearce-Sunsites Community Library, which owns and maintains the facility, and the Cochise County Facilities Department will assist with moving books and shelving. The Friends Bookstore will also be closed during the project, from August 13-31.

The neighboring libraries in Sunizona and Elfrida will be open and patrons may use their Sunsites library cards at those locations. Visit cochiselibrary.org for location details.

Amadee Ricketts, Cochise County Library District Director, said, “The Library District deeply appreciates the support of the Friends and their continuing efforts to improve the beautiful Sunsites Community Library building.”
