Cochise County Community College District issued the following announcement on Aug. 29.
Applications are now being accepted for a position on the Cochise County Community College District Governing Board.
The person who fills the current vacancy will represent Precinct 2, which encompasses the communities and surrounding areas of Douglas, Pirtleville, Double Adobe, McNeal, Elfrida, Apache, and Tombstone. For a precinct map visit https://www.cochise.edu/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/Precinct-Map-PDF.pdf
The term is effective upon appointment and will run for four years of a six-year term.
To be eligible to hold this seat applicants must be a registered voter, a United States citizen, be at least 18 years of age, have continually resided within the precinct for at least one year immediately prior to taking office, and the candidate or their spouse cannot be employed by the college district.
