City of Mesa issued the following announcement on Sept. 11.

The City of Mesa continues to look for volunteers to participate in National Make a Difference Day Saturday, Oct. 27 between 7 a.m. and noon and other project dates in October. Residents, neighborhood groups, local businesses, service organizations, church groups and City of Mesa employees have already registered to help our community and more are encouraged to do the same.

Examples of service projects include painting walls and curb numbers; cleaning up parks, alleys and canals; distributing neighborhood resource bags and helping residents who need assistance with painting and landscaping. For more information and to register, visit www.mesaaz.gov/residents/volunteer/make-a-difference-day. We will do our best to accommodate as many volunteers as possible but cannot guarantee participation. So sign-up early!

Millions of Americans will rally together during October and Make a Difference Day to take action in their communities and help change the world.
