Tucson Metro Chamber issued the following announcement on Oct. 10.

Vantage West Credit Union, southern Arizona’s largest credit union, announced today the promotion of Miguel (Mickey) Gomez from Sr. Business Banker to Business Relationship Manager I. This aligns with the credit union’s direction to strengthen its Business Banking team and foster collaborative relationships with the local business community.

In his new position, Mickey supports Vantage West’s existing business Members, develops new relationships with local businesses, and helps them achieve growth and success as their financial partner. This involves understanding how their businesses operate through financial analysis and by listening to their needs. He helps bridge the gap by providing access to business savings and checking accounts; loans to purchase inventory, equipment, or commercial real estate; operational lines of credit and credit cards to assist with short-term capital requirement; external funding sources such as the Small Business Administration; and more.

Mickey moved to Tucson 16 years ago after completing his B.A. at Northern Arizona University. He has 20 years of sales experience, including 15 years in the banking industry. Mickey has worked with business clients for the past 14 years and is an expert in recommending services to support companies in their cash flow, lending and operating needs. He also worked in downtown Tucson for 10 years, when he successfully assisted many business owners during the revitalization of the area. As an advocate for localism, Mickey combines excellent service with a passion for the success of Arizona businesses. In addition to his extensive professional experience, Mickey has volunteered in many local non-profit organizations including the Make-A-Wish-Foundation, Habitat for Humanity, and Toys for Tots.
