Graduates earn 1,717 degrees, certificates from Scottsdale Community College


About 33.5 percent of the 1,717 degrees and certificates handed out by Scottsdale Community College in 2017-18 were to students in visual and performing arts programs, making them the most popular programs that year, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The agency's National Center for Education Statistics shows the public institution in Scottsdale conferred 477 certificates and 98 associate's degrees in visual and performing arts programs.

But the single most popular program was for a associate's degree in liberal arts and sciences/liberal studies. Data shows the school gave out 430 associate's degrees in liberal arts and sciences/liberal studies, followed by 427 certificates in general art/art studies and 120 associate's degrees in registered nursing/registered nurse.

The college enrolled 9,458 students for 2017-18, all of whom were enrolled in undergraduate programs.
