Tucson Metro Chamber issued the following announcement on Nov. 21.

Hughes Federal Credit Union and Banner - University Medicine are pleased to announce their Nov. 2 Toy Drive kick-off collected five bins of holiday toys, art supplies and $161 in cash donations. Residents can continue donating items to the drive until Friday, December 13.

Unwrapped holiday toys, art supplies and cash donations are accepted at all Hughes locations. Hughes will deliver all gifts to Banner’s Diamond Children’s Medical Center just in time for Christmas.

“The goal is to assure that every child at Diamond Children’s receives a gift representing the care and

compassion our community feels for them and their families during the holidays,” Hughes President and

General Manager Robert J. Swick said.

“We are truly moved by the generosity and well wishes already shared through the Holiday Toy Drive,” said Chad Whelan, M.D., chief executive officer of Banner - University Medicine in Tucson. “The gifts and donations will definitely help brighten the spirits of hospitalized children and their families.”
