A total of 42 seats will be up for election Tuesday on the board and council of the Salt River Project (SRP) Agricultural Improvement and Power District and the board and council of the SRP Water Users’ Association.
The elections will fill 22 seats within the district, which manages the electric operation at the SRP, and another 20 seats at the association, which oversees the SRP’s water operations.
Voters were allowed to submit early ballots in the mail for both the district and the association seats. People can also vote in person at the SRP Administration Building’s SRP Voting Center at 1521 N. Project Drive, Tempe. The center will be open from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday.
The terms for the positions will last for four years and those elected will assume their duties on May 2 and 3.
