Nationwide's annual Wacky Pet Names campaign is in full swing, inviting pet owners to vote for the most creative and clever pet names among the recently enrolled pets. The voting period for the wackiest dog, cat, and exotic pet names is open from April 9 to April 12, 2024, at petinsurance.com/wackypetnames.

Among the nominees for this year's wacky pet names are a diverse range of animals, including dogs, cats, a Macaw, guinea pig, snake, tortoise, mini pig, tegu lizard, ferrets, and rabbits. The winners in each category will be revealed on Wednesday, April 17, 2024.

Some of the finalists for the wackiest pet names include "Boots With the Fur" from Utah, "Balsamic Vin" from Missouri, "BeezelBun" from Arizona, and many more from various states across the country.

As pet owners consider unique names for their furry, feathery, or scaly companions, Nationwide offers some tips for selecting the perfect moniker. These tips include using hard consonants and vowels in names, avoiding command-like names, considering nicknames for longer monikers, and testing out the name in public before finalizing it.
