City of Mesa issued the following announcement on Aug. 8.

In honor of surpassing 50,000 users on Nextdoor.com, the City would like to recognize Nextdoor.com Good Neighbors who've made the greatest use of the social networking site in their neighborhoods.

All Nextdoor.com users are encouraged to nominate someone in their neighborhood for the Nextdoor.com Good Neighbor Award. No matter how big or small the acts, the City wants to hear about neighbors who have made a positive influence in the community. Nominations are due by Tuesday, Aug. 28. The selected nominees will be recognized at a celebration in September.

To nominate a Nextdoor.com Good Neighbor near you, visit https://www.mesaaz.gov/residents/neighborhood-outreach.

Nextdoor is a private, free social network designed to strengthen communities. It's an easy way for residents to connect with their neighbors and talk online, strengthen relationships and create safer neighborhoods through helpful, service-oriented interactions.

The City of Mesa uses Nextdoor.com to communicate important updates about road closures, utility disruptions, safety tips, City events and helpful resources.
