City of Avondale issued the following announcement on Feb. 21.

The program, offered through the Avondale Municipal Art Committee, provides funding to non-profit or educational organizations to support and enhance arts education and activities in Avondale. In addition to public art installations, the committee also funds an annual scholarship contest, the Mayor Marie High School Art Contest, to encourage budding artists to pursue higher education opportunities.
