MMC 360 is disrupting the cleaning industry with its innovative approach to services for businesses. The company made a name for itself by providing cleaning services to a variety of industries, including medical providers, office buildings, day cares, schools and health care facilities.

“I think that with regards to what it is that we do, we were able to meet cleaning standards, which I think everybody out there is trying to do," MMC 360 CEO Rick Leese said. "So that's not so unique. But then I think the one thing that we've got is we are able to replicate best practices and transfer that knowledge among the clients' facilities.”

According to the company’s website, MMC 360 offers “multiple services under one contract with a single point of contact” to more than 25 companies that depend on clean spaces. Leese adds MMC 360 has been voted as a top 10 health care property management company, which he attributes to its focus on professional management. The company is also set apart by its reliability of service across different markets, Leese said.

“We feel like we're somewhat unlimited and we feel the model that we created will travel to a certain degree,” Leese said. “Once we work with a customer, we are able to follow them where their other businesses are located. Our partners are nationwide and we've developed the ability to manage their teams wherever they are.”

Leese attributes the company's success to a prioritization of best-management practices. MMC 360 operates multiple teams, allowing for increased efficiency and the ability to clean in multiple states. The company's objective is to be business managers who understand cleaning, not a cleaning staff trying to be business managers, he added.

“We're not better at cleaning, we're better at managing. And because we're better at managing, our cleaning gets better,” he said. “It really just comes down to responsiveness, communication and taking corrective action. If there's someone saying, ‘Hey, we're having problems with our floors,’ we're going to go out there and do what we can to figure out why your floors aren't as clean as they should be.”

In Leese’s view, another key element to the company’s success has been its ability to replicate effective models across markets, by aggregating information and sharing best practices among clients' facilities. MMC 360 primarily operates in Illinois, but the company is able to follow its clients wherever their other businesses are located, he added.

“In the cleaning industry, if I get a customer and they're over in Moquina, if the client also has a facility in Oak Brook, the same people are not going to drive from Moquina,” Leese said. “So for us, it made a lot more sense to be able to offer the sort of geographic coverage to work with a variety of our partners. We are then able to select from appropriate geographic regions to match people to the appropriate location.”

According to Leese, MMC 360’s innovative approach to cleaning services has made it a leader in the industry, and its focus on the fundamentals of communication, responsiveness and corrective action has set it apart from the rest.

“It's really just the basics of listening to what a customer wants and responding.” Leese said. “And I think, just for me, I've just seen that in every industry that I've ever been in. Even if you don't always have a perfect solution, if your responsiveness is perfect, you'll eventually get to a solution. To me, it's [about] the customer service that's delivered and I think that's where we excel.”
